One of the most popular establishments in the area, Betty’s is very proud of what they call their ‘legendary’ afternoon tea made famous by the delectable sweet treats. Opened over a century ago by a Swiss confectioner, this tearoom has had decades to perfect the art of the afternoon tea. It’s true that the reputation of this tearoom precedes it, so why not take a bite and put those rumours to the test?

The Old Swan

Sip tea in the lounge of this magnificent hotel. A central location and half a mile from the town centre, popular Turkish Baths and Convention Centre makes this the perfect stop on a tour of the town.

Rudding Park

A 400-year-old olive tree is currently growing in the centre of the conservatory where afternoon tea is served. Admire this impressive ancient relic and gaze out at parkland of the estate while dining on your mid-afternoon treat.

Mama Doreen’s Emporium

Specialising in cakes and sweet treats, Mama Doreen’s is a gorgeous little café and family business to stop at for afternoon tea. A treasure-trove of sugary goodies to discover on Cold Bath Road in the centre of town.

Located in the neighbouring town of Skipton, within the Harrogate District, The Devonshire Arms offers this extraordinary trip as part of your afternoon tea experience. If there’s time, after disembarking you could take a walk around Skipton town and gaze up at Bolton Abbey.

The Majestic

A magnificent Victorian-era house located between Harrogate’s The Stray and the Convention Centre. This hotel is part of The Cairn Collection, a hotel group that specialises in landmark locations, and offers afternoon tea in a sophisticated setting. Originally built as Harrogate soared in popularity during the Victorian era and struck by bombs during WWII, it’s intriguing heritage only adds to the charming atmosphere of the place.

At Hotel Du Vin

This place knows the importance of a good cuppa; they offer unique blends in a stylish bistro setting. Dine in this contemporary eatery, sip champagne in the garden or surprise someone with a gift experience for a special occasion.

The Wild Plum

This darling eatery is attached to Snooty Frox of Harrogate, an occasion wear store, so you know that the café is styled to match the boutique’s glamour. Down the road from Hornbeam Park station, it would suit those on a shopping spree or planning and in need of inspiration for a big event.

Fodder

An award-winning food hall and café with an emphasis on local produce so you know you are eating well. Surround yourself with the pleasant views of Harrogate’s Crimple Valley offered through the large windows of this stylish establishment.

An afternoon spent well

Everyone adores those couple of hours between lunch and dinner reserved for a coffee and cake. Trays piled high with small savoury treats and sugary desserts combine to make a delightful afternoon rest stop, and Harrogate, with its reputation as a stylish town, is a pleasing place to entertain during tea time.

Pick out the perfect spot for meeting a colleague, discuss the day’s plans with friends or consider your evening dining options with a partner.

Maybe you prefer privacy and seclusion while relaxing throughout the afternoon? The only way to gain that exclusive experience is to hire a private chef to cater for you and your group in your own luxury accommodation.
