Situated just outside the much sought-after North Yorkshire village of Ripley, this studio-style holiday cottage forms part of the owner''s working farm and is ideal for a couple looking to stay just outside Harrogate. The cottage retains much of its original character, with exposed beams and country views, and the friendly owners are happy to show guests their working farm which has cattle, sheep and Clydesdale horses. The village is home to Ripley Castle, a 14th century stately home which is open to the public.
The accommodation features a large open-plan studio-style living space, with a super-king-size bed, which can be made into two singles on request, a lounge area with TV/DVD, a fully equipped kitchen and a dining table for four guests. The shower room features grab rails for disabled access. There’s also a patio complete with BBQ. Parking is available for two cars, and stabling is available for guests wishing to bring horses. Children are welcome but please bring your own cot and highchair.
Ripley offers a choice of pubs and shops, including an ice cream parlour, and is set in picturesque countryside, with a beautiful lake within half a mile. There’s a regular bus service (every 20 minutes) through the village serving Harrogate and Ripon. Harrogate is less than 4 miles away, and is home to the Harrogate Convention Centre, the Valley Gardens, the Royal Pump Room and a choice of restaurants, pubs and tea rooms. Ripon is 9 miles away, famous for its cathedral and racecourse.
